The Syrians

The Syrian plan was simple split up the force in 3 groups and attack on all sides with 2 battalions each (3 players for Syrian side). The IDF side decided to hold one Mech inf Battalion on the center and right of the table and attack on the left with one Mech infantry battalion and on armor battalion.

The Right side of the table

The Syrians went first and started to pore in their forces T-55A tanks along with BTR-60 and BTR-50 APCs. After them came the IDF more defensively orientated the IDF started to move infantry in the towns and armor on the hill as to try and stop the onslaught that was coming.

The left side of the table

After the first few turns of maneuvering the IDF tanks opened fire (exploiting their longer range) this did not seem to stop the Syrians that even though taking loses continued on.
The Syrian armor finally came in range and fired back at the IDF tanks while some Sagger missiles from the infantry battalions also started to pore it in. While this was going on the artillery on both sides was trying to support the ground troops.

The Syrian infantry

On turn 6 the Syrian artillery managed to pick of 2 out of the 3 IDF AA guns and the Syrians were confident that their air force could come in and help take care of the IDF.

The IDF counter attack

The first Syrian MiG-21 came in the following round and attacked a hill on which six  Sherman (105mm) tanks were on the MiG used its Medium GP bombs (15) to hit 2 tanks taking one out and causing the other to become suppressed.

The Syrians after taking fire

the game continued on the same tempo when on turn 10 the IDF on the left began to attack (the Syrians had lost 2 battalions and were rushing reinforcements from the center). On the right the Syrians had come close to the right most town but dared not attack as the IDF infantry along with a jeep 106mm had taken defensive positions and was on over watch.

The IDF right most town

On the final round neither side had completed its Objective (to exit units from the enemy base line) so we counted loses and concluded it was a minor IDF victory.

It must be said that the syrian pilot was drunk and could not lock nothing but one jeep (the Mig21 atack never managed to hit a tank).

It was a really great battle where the IDF quallity in training proved itself vital.

A,ha! The Arabic inefficiency in command appeared again!!! Don't put the blame on your pilots dear Ahmed!!

The Arabic inefficiency in command appeared again because it was the commanders choise to attack and not waiting for its opponent to come forward. The Arabs were FAIR, the IDF were AVG and GOOD and their weapons had longer range. As I remember in many games we played this advantage did not give victory to the IDF, so always the blame is on the Commander for not making the right choices in battle (as far as the pilot I admit that I sent him the night before in a Cabaret for fun but he got drunk - really).
